Editorial policy
This editorial policy tells you how Okayform writes its template pages, where each statement comes from, and how we fix errors. It applies to every page on the site.
Where our sources come from
Each legal statement on a template page comes from an official primary source. That means a government website, a state statute or a court or agency page. We don't use blogs, forums or other template sites as sources.
If we can't find an official source for a statement, we leave the statement out.
How often we check sources
We check each source at least every 90 days. If a source changes or goes offline, we update or remove the statement that depends on it.
Not legal advice
Okayform is not a law firm. The templates and pages are general information, not legal advice. No lawyer has reviewed them yet.
Every situation is different, so talk to a lawyer in your state before you rely on a form.
Who writes the pages
Vinay Koshy, the founder of Okayform, writes and checks the pages. He is not a lawyer.
